Lahoal MLA draws flak

A Correspondent

Dibrugarh, June 20: The members of AATSA burnt the effigy of Lahoal MLA Rituparna Baruah over alleged irregularities in the Union Government’s Ujjawala Scheme. As per sources, many tea labourers had harboured the opinion that several people were indulging in corrupt practices under the cover of the Ujjawala Scheme. In that background, many such tea labourers went to meet Baruah to air their grievances and inform him of the irregularities. But, it has been alleged by AATSA that the workers were subjected to unsavoury treatment by a handful of BJP workers. Reacting sharply to the incident, members of Chah Janajati Chatra Sanstha held that it was the responsibility of the conscious citizens to inform the people’s representatives of such incidents, and as such, condemned the turn of events.
