UYDF to work for growth of youth power

KOKRAJHAR, June 21: The United Youths’ Democratic Federation (UYDF), which was formed recently, has affirmed that it would start working for the betterment of the youth of the region. At a press meet held at Kokrajhar Press Club on Wednesday, the chairman of the UYDF, Gorjan Mashahary said, “We are being showered with many false promises by the political system. Youth are the foundation of our nation so first and foremost, presentation, acceptation and protection of youth in India must be re-addressed,” he said.

He said that China had developed because the youth were skilled and trained. The UYDF appealed to Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary to encourage entrepreneurship so as to produce young employers and not just young employees.

Mashahary urged Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to consider youth pension for the State of Assam. He said the UYDF intended to build a broad-based strong united youth movement for democratic rights. The UYDF leaders will identify various problems concerning the youth and take proper and timely decision and steps to resolve them and pledged to organize and conduct struggle against corruption and unemployment. He also said the UYDF would work for the rights of the youth to participate in the activities of public bodies and highlight the different issues and problems concerning the youth in the field of education, culture and sports.
