Jhumur dance workshop begins

DEMOW, June 23: Under the patronage of Sonapur Social Development Society, an NGO, a jhumur dance workshop started in Athabari Tea Estate Kalyan Kendra from Saturday. A general meeting was held which was presided over by Madharam Mudi and Sanjay Prasad Sah. Anil Rajbonshi and Suresh Tanti anchored the meeting. Dhurbajit Gogoi, music artiste, Dadichi Koiborta, in-charge of Athabari Tea Estate Kalyan Kendra, Arjun Sahu, artist and Dhurba Chaura, artist were present as chief guests in the inauguration programme ofjhumur dance workshop on Saturday. Prameswar Rajwar, Principal of Tea Tribes Late Haren Rajwar Sangeet School in Nazira, Lila Rajwar, an artist of Dibrugarh Radio Centre, and Krishna Karmarkar, music artist of Dibrugarh Radio Centre will train the students during the workshop. The workshop will end on July 23.
