Karbi Anglong to have modern stadiums soon: Sum Ronghang

HOWRAGHAT, June 24: State HAD Minister Sum Ronghang on Sunday asserted that altogether 26 open sports stadiums at the cost of Rs 10 crore would be constructed in each of the 26 MAC constituencies in Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC).

Besides, four modern stadiums under signature schemes will be constructed in all four MLA constituencies in the two hill districts of East and West Karbi Anglong, Ronghang asserted while attending the inter-club league tournament at Bakaliaghat.

While referring to the Chief Minister’s sports capital dream project, the HAD Minister said that the State Government aimed to build the State into a major sports hub. He added that that a project had already been prepared and submitted a cost of Rs 260 crore against the 26 open sports stadium.

Meanwhile, he urged all upcoming players to display a proactive role in the field of sports and asked them to take up sports as their career.
