Assam General Administration Department issued new rules for office attendance

GUWAHATI: In sync with the Ministry of Home Affairs' (MHA) order issued on May 30, 2020 the GAD (General Administration Department) of Assam has issued a fresh order regarding attendance of offices by the employees.

In an order issued on June 1, 2020, the Commissioner and Secretary of GAD, M Angamuthu spelt out in details on the attendance of office by officers and other staff. The order will remain in force till June 30.

The order says,

(1) All officers and staff shall attend office on all working days.

(2) Female employees with children below five years of age, persons with co-morbidities and pregnant women need not attend office. They shall work from home, and should be available on telephone and electronic means of communication at all times.

(3) Maintenance of protocol in respect of social distancing, sanitization etc in their respective departments/offices is to be ensured as per national directives for COVID-19 management.

The order further said that the State government desires the heads of the departments, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, SDOs (Civil), autonomous bodies, councils and corporations to follow scrupulously the new guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued on May 30, 2020. The SAD (Secretariat Administration Department) has also issued a similar notification for the employees of Janata Bhawan (Assam Secretariat) on Monday.
