GUWAHATI: Like every other year, this year too the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has failed to save the city from flash floods. Though the GMC claimed that it has tried their best in cleaning the drains so as to save the city from flash floods, the situation on Monday caused a lot of trouble for the several resident. Flash floods were witnessed in the city after an hour of heavy rainfall in the evening. Though the Containment Zone area marked in Pragjyotish Complex of Ghoramara, Guwahati city is under lockdown and there were only a few people on the roads, the flood caused a lot of trouble for them. Many were stuck in different areas of the city like Ganeshguri, Bhangaghar, Rajgarh, Chandmari, Hatigaon, GS Road, Zoo Tiniali, Sixmile, Panjabari road, Anil Nagar, Nabin Nagar, Hengerabari, and Downtown area. The power cut for hours also added to the problems of the citizens. Many expressed their anger and blamed the GMC.
