GUWAHATI: World No Tobacco Day was observed at Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport on Wednesday. On this occasion, an anti-tobacco awareness session was organised at the arrival-exit gate. The event was attended by the Chief Airport Officer (CAO) Utpal Baruah, Chief Operational Officer (COO) Snehasish Dutta, CISF commandant Lalmohan Thakur, and various senior officials of the airport.

Members of the Brahma Kumaris, Azara Branch B. K. Barnali and BK Devnath, and the corporate communication officer Ruma Devi Keot also took part in the event. They discussed in detail the causes and prevention of addiction and encouraged every addict to break free from addiction through regular yoga meditation.

Addressing the gathering, CAO Utpal Baruah said, "There are two types of addictions in this world: one is positive and the other is negative. Addiction or drug abuse is the destruction of oneself and one's family, and it is a negative addiction. Similarly, singing, dancing, acting, sports, etc. are positive addictions that do not harm anyone. So let everyone live with a positive addiction and protect their families."
