Barpeta jail inmate dies

BARPETA: An inmate of Barpeta district jail died on Friday. He has been identified as Omar Ali of Rampara, Alopati Sar in the Barpeta district. He was imprisoned in a murder case seven years ago.

On Friday, while working in the jail, Ali died. He was taken to Barpeta's Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) where the doctor declared him dead. Though the post-mortem was done, the reason for his death is not yet known. Barpeta Police have lodged an FIR in this regard. Investigation is on.
