Bid to bring transparency in sale of subsidized fertilizers

BONGAIGAON: To bring transparency in selling subsidized fertilizer by online mode, a meeting was held at the training hall of the office of the District Agriculture Officer, Bongaigaon on Friday.

The meeting was chaired by Bhaskar Das, District Development Commissioner, Bongaigaon. As per direction of the Director, Agriculture, the meeting was held to make retailers of fertilizers aware about the importance of fertilizer regulation. The retailers have been given a period of time to correct irregularities. During this period they will be closely supervised as to how they are selling fertilizers and will be directed to update in a POS system. Action will be initiated only against those retailers who have everything in place, including POS system, yet they are selling in fertilizers in black or illegally.

The meeting was attended by District Agriculture Officer, Subdivisional Agriculture Officer, Agriculture Development Officers and Area Manager BVFCL and 45 retailers of fertilizers. Similar meeting was held at Abhayapuri on Thursday which was also chaired by the District Development Commissioner, Bongaigaon.
