Cultural rallies taken out in BTR districts to foster peace and integrity

KOKRAJHAR: As part of the celebration of 1st BTR Accord day, the Department of Culture, in association with cultural organizations, brought out beautiful cultural rallies in the headquarters of four BTR districts on Monday to foster peace and integrity among all sections of people.

In Kokrajhar, the grand cultural rally was flagged off by Executive Member (EM) UkhilMashahary, in presence of Secretary, BTC for Culture, Pranjit Wary, president of DularaiBoroHarimuAfad (DBHA), Jogeswar Brahma, PRO, BTC, SomeswarBasumatary and vice-president of UPPL, Pratibha Brahma. Hundreds of students and cultural troupes from different communities took part in their traditional attire. The rally, which started from Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) field, culminated at Secretariat field, BodofaNwgwr via RN Brahma Road and JwhwlaoDwimalu Road.

In his brief address, EM UkhilMashahary said that the new coalition government of UPPL, BJP and GSP, led by PramodBoro, intended to bring a new change in BTR. He said that the BTR would ensure safety, security to all, equal development and justice to all communities to uphold peace and integrity. He also said for peaceful coexistence among all, the BTR organized the grand cultural rallies in all districts on the occasion of completion of one year of the BTR Accord. He further called upon all people to maintain peace and communal harmony for the sake of faster development of the region.

Meanwhile, a cultural exchange programme was also held at Secretariat field, BodofaNwgwr which was inaugurated by BTR EM Arup Kr. Dey. Many cultural troupes from different communities performed their respective folk and traditional dance in their traditional attire. The cultural showcase was also attended by leaders of cultural organizations, artistes, singers and intellectuals.
