Financial assistance extended to economically weak students in Assam

DHUBRI: Like the previous years, this year too Kolkata-Dhubri Sanmilani distributed scholarship to 53 economically weak but brilliant students of Dhubri at a function held recently in the premises of Dhubri Hari Sobha.

The meeting was presided over by Prof (retired), Debasish Bhattacharjee, while president of Kolkata-Dhubri Sanmilani, Dr Sanat Kumar Saha graced the occasion as the chief guest.

In the meeting, a silent but dedicated social worker, Rajendra Roy was felicitated for his relentless service towards the society. Guardians and parents of the students thanked the Sanmilani and said that such financial assistance would go a long way to serve the purpose of education and help build the career of their children.

Later, talking to The Sentinel, president of Kolkata-Dhubri Sanmilani, Dr Sanat Kumar Saha informed that this year the highest number of scholarships was extended to students with an increasing number of donors. "This year 53 students received Rs 2,500 each and this amount may increase in the years to come," Dr Saha added.
