Preparation underway to observe Homen Borgohain's birth anniversary as Grantha Adhyayan Divas

LAKHIMPUR: The 'Mangalbodh Jagaran Kendra', an institution which renders service for social, cultural, literary and academic development, observed December 7 -- the birthday of noted intellectual Homen Borgohain, as the 'Grantha Adhyayan Divas' in 2020 for the first time ever. The institution has initiated steps to observe the event this year too on the same day.

As a part of the programme, the institution will distribute leaflets among 3,000 students of various schools and colleges of the district in the morning that day. The leaflets will disseminate messages about the importance of studying books.

It will be followed by a 'Shradhanjali' programme to pay tribute to Homen Borgohain. In the same programme, the eight year's seventh issue of the 'Mangalmoy Patrika' and Jiten Barua's novel -- 'Jui Khojat Phool' will be released.

It will be followed by screening of a video interview given by Homen Borgohain to Mangalbodh Jagaran Kendra, a symposia on the importance of studying books and the literary contributions of Homen Borgohain.

The programme will be held in the conference hall of Lakhimpur District Xahitya Xabha Bhavan. The organizing committee president Sanjib Upadhyay, vice-president Tirtha Das and secretary Pankaj Sabhapandit has appealed to the people to make the event successful.
