5 People Including Police Officer Killed By 'Depressed' Man in Tripura

At least five people were murdered and two more were seriously injured when a man attacked them with an iron rod in Tripura's Khowai district on Saturday. According to authorities, a despondent man called Pradip Debroy killed his two teenage daughters and younger brother at his house in Shewratali village on Saturday. The trio was killed on the spot during the attack. His wife was seriously injured and is being hospitalised at the Khowai District Hospital.

Debroy then came to a standstill in the middle of the road, killing an autorickshaw driver and hurting his child gravely. According to Khowai district ASP Rajib Sengupta, Debroy beat him when a police unit commanded by Inspector Satyajit Mullick came on the site after obtaining information about the event.

The officer died as a consequence of his injuries while being carried to the Agartala Government Medical College, according to Sengupta. Debroy had been held and had been down for a few days, according to SP Kiran Kumar. A police presence has been established in the vicinity, he claims.

In a separate incident, on Thursday, November 26th, the Paltan Bazar Police nabbed a girl from Guwahati in connection with the finding of Sandeep Bhuyan's body near Byrnihat on Sunday. Paltan Bazar Police referred her to Nongpoh Police, who filed a complaint (case 160/21 under section 302 of the IPC). According to accounts, the girl is claimed to be particularly close to the deceased. She works in a private hospital in Guwahati. The 22-year-old girl was born and raised in Shillong. There is more research being done.

Sandeep's body was discovered on the side of the street in Byrnihat. Strangulation scars were visible on his neck. His bike and phone had also vanished. Meghalaya police alerted all police stations in Assam and Meghalaya after recovering the corpse. Majuli is where the dead was born. He lived at Swaraj Nagar in the city, near Bagheswari Mandir, and worked in a private insurance firm in Ulubari. Sandeep has been missing since November 20th evening. His family members filed a FIR (First Information Report) with the Paltan Bazar Police Station in this respect. Paltan Bazar Police took control of the body from Nongpoh Police on Tuesday and handed it over to his relatives.
