Atma Nirbahar Bharat: CM Sonowal appeals to banks to formulate guidelines for disbursing loans

Assam Chief Minister Sarbanada Sonowal has appealed to public sector banks to formulate guidelines to provide loans to the MSME and others in the days to come. The Chief Minister, on Thursday, held a discussion with the representatives of public sector banks in Guwahati on loans under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Mission, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the discussion, the Chief Minister urged the Banks to formulate necessary guidelines for disbursing loans under the scheme in the upcoming time. The Prime Minister announced a Rs.20lakh crore package to revive the country' economy. As per the PM announcement, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman revealed the road-maps of disbursing the money where loans to MSMEs has found prime importance. Chief Minister Sonowal also said that the migrant workers who arrived in Assam during the lockdown period would get job cards from the state government. He said that the state Panchayat and Rural Development department was already instructed to take necessary step for issuing new job cards for the migrant labours. Sonoawal said that works for economic progress will continue parallel with the war against COVID-19. In today's discussion, Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Industry Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary also took part.
