Around 15,000 sanitation workers attempted to set a Guinness World Record on Monday by carrying out a synchronized cleaning drive in four zones.

According to an official statement, Prayagraj Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani, Mahakumbh's Special Executive Officer Akanksha Rana, and the Guinness World Records team were present at the event.

The statement said that Rishi Nath, the chief supervisor and judge from Guinness World Records, came to Prayagraj from London with his team. The workers were counted by scanning the codes on their wristbands. The final record validation report will be out in three days.

During the 2019 Kumbh in Prayagraj, 10,000 sanitation workers set a Guiness World Record by taking part in a synchronized cleanliness drive.

Mr. Kesarwani said the world record attempt sent a strong message of cleanliness from the holy land of Prayagraj to the world.

Uttar Pradesh Minister AK Sharma called the sanitation workers the true heroes behind the success of Maha Kumbh, the world’s largest religious and cultural event. "They worked day and night to keep the Kumbh Mela area clean," he added.
