Bigg Boss 18 contestant Chum Darang from Arunachal Pradesh posted a cryptic message on her Instagram Story, urging an end to racism. The post appears to be aimed at Elvish Yadav, who recently made a disrespectful comment about Darang and her part in the film Gangubai Kathiawadi by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Chum posted a strong message on Instagram, urging people to separate humor from hate and stressing the importance of respecting others' identities, names, and achievements, seemingly criticizing Elvish's remarks.

Chum wrote, "Disrespecting someone’s identity and achievements isn’t 'fun' or 'banter.' It’s time to separate humor from hate. What’s worse is that my ethnicity and my hard work in a film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali were disrespected."

Chum showed support for those from the Northeast facing racism, saying, "I see you, I hear you, and I stand with you. We all deserve respect and equality. Let’s fight against racism and encourage empathy and kindness."

What Elvish Yadav said

The controversy started when Elvish Yadav, during a conversation with Rajat Dalal, mocked Karan Veer Mehra’s choice of women and made derogatory remarks about Chum Darang.

The YouTuber faced criticism on social media for his ‘racist’ comments, with Chum’s fans demanding an apology. However, Elvish stated that he would not apologise, claiming that people had unnecessarily twisted his words.

After the backlash, Rajat Dalal claimed the remarks were scripted and Elvish was instructed to say them, defending him by saying, "Elvish didn’t say those things on his own; he was given the instructions and followed them."
