Arunachal’s Sonam Zomba Clinches International MMA Victory At MFN 16

Arunachal Pradesh’s Sonam Zomba achieved her first international MMA victory at Matrix Fight Night (MFN) 16 in Delhi on March 1, 2025. Her win marks a significant milestone in her career.

Competing in the strawweight category, Zomba defeated Singapore’s Shi Yin Tan via a second-round technical knockout (TKO). Her powerful striking skills played a crucial role in securing the win.

Zomba’s victory reflects her intensive training in striking disciplines like Muay Thai, boxing, and kickboxing. These techniques helped her develop strong punches, kicks, and elbow strikes to dominate her opponent.

She trains at Bidang MMA and Fitness Gym in Guwahati under coach Bhabajeet Choudhury. Her dedication and hard work have earned her recognition in the MMA circuit.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated Zomba, praising her achievement and expressing pride in her success. He wished her continued victories in her MMA journey.
