CHINESE VILLAGE IN ARUNACHAL PRADESH

After construction of three villages in hitherto uninhabited stretches of western Arunachal Pradesh, the images provided by Planet Lab Inc, reveals that China has constructed a new village in Arunachal.

Satellite images confirm construction of 101 homes on the banks of the River Tsari Chu, that lies in the Upper Subansiri district.

The area has been long disputed and is marked by armed conflict. It is located 1 km north of the existing Chinese military post.

First satellite image taken on 26 August, 2019 does not show any construction activity. The latest images that questions the establishment of village is dated 1 November, 2020.

In 2020, China constructed at least three villages about five kilometers from the Bum La pass close to the tri-junction between India, China and Bhutan in Arunachal Pradesh. The villages are constructed in Shannan's border county and is said to have access to water, electricity and internet.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that the government is constantly monitoring all developments around the India-China border.
