Eating From Plastic Takeaway Containers Can Harm Your Health: Study

Sentinel Digital Desk

Plastic containers are widely used for food storage and delivery. However, recent research suggests that chemicals from these containers may pose serious health risks, especially to heart health.

Researchers studied over 3,000 people in China to see if frequent use of plastic takeout containers was linked to heart disease. They also conducted experiments on rats to analyze the effects of plastic chemicals.

The study showed that pouring hot water into plastic containers released harmful chemicals. When plastic is heated, it can release millions of microplastic particles, which may enter our food and affect our health.

Scientists found that chemicals from plastic can alter gut bacteria, leading to inflammation and oxidative stress. These changes are linked to cardiovascular diseases, making plastic exposure a serious health risk.

Research has already established a link between gut health and heart disease. The chemicals in plastic containers can disturb the gut microbiota, further increasing the risk of heart-related issues.
