German Pilots Gets Stranded In Bengaluru Traffic, Misses Aero India Opening Ceremony: Report

Fifteen German pilots visiting Bengaluru for the first time struggled with the city's infamous traffic. According to media reports, their journey to Aero India on Monday turned into a frustrating ordeal, with long delays causing them to miss the inaugural event and key aircraft displays.

The pilots, who arrived on an A330 passenger aircraft and stayed 17 km from the venue, left early, expecting a smooth journey.

Their private cab got stuck in traffic, turning a short trip into hours of waiting. By the time they reached Yelahanka Air Force Station, the opening ceremony was already over.

One pilot ironically remarked that after discussing Bengaluru’s infrastructure with a local guide the day before, he got a firsthand experience of its challenges soon after.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the 15th edition of Aero India on February 10, 2025, at the Yelahanka Air Force Station. This five-day event is an endeavor to strengthen friendship among nations through shared interests in defense and technology.

The event will bring together government representatives, industry leaders, defense experts, and academics from around the world to promote collaboration beyond mere transactions.
