While India is the 3rd largest economy in the world, its digital "user" economy ranks 28th, according to an ICRIER-CIDE report. This means that while India has high digitalisation at the national level, the average Indian’s digital experience is still modest.

India’s digital economy is growing at twice the rate of its overall economy. By 2029, digital services could make up one-fifth of India’s economy, reinforcing its role as a global tech leader.

India is a global leader in IT services, with the third-largest market capitalisation in tech after the U.S. and China. Its start-up ecosystem, fintech sector, and ICT exports are strong.
