In an arranged marriage in Maharashtra, a man's CIBIL score became the unusual reason for his rejection, rather than horoscope mismatches or disputes.
In Murtizapur, a man was rejected before his wedding after his prospective bride's uncle insisted on checking his CIBIL score.
As per the reports, the families were meeting to finalize the wedding, with both sides agreeing on the match and discussing other details. However, things took a turn when the woman’s uncle decided to check the man’s CIBIL score.
The woman's family was shocked to discover that the prospective groom had multiple loans from different banks, and his CIBIL score was low. A low CIBIL score typically reflects a poor credit history, often indicating irregular payments, loan defaults, and financial instability.
The bride's uncle was unhappy with the man's financial situation and opposed the marriage, believing he was unsuitable for his niece. Other family members agreed and withdrew the proposal.
What is CIBIL score?
A CIBIL score, ranging from 300 to 900, summarizes a person's credit history. A higher score indicates good financial health, while a lower score signals financial struggles. It helps lenders assess creditworthiness.
