The ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, has drawn millions of devotees to the sacred Triveni Sangam. Among the attendees is ‘IIT Baba,’ a former aerospace engineer turned spiritual guide, capturing the attention of visitors and media.
Abhey Singh, a Haryana native, is the man behind the persona. An alumnus of IIT Bombay, he left a promising career in aerospace engineering to follow the path of spirituality.
He added that he lived in Mumbai for four years before shifting his focus to photography and the arts, even drawing parallels with the film ‘3 Idiots.'
After earning his degree and working briefly in the corporate world, Singh felt unfulfilled. His passion for travel photography became a turning point, leading him to explore deeper questions about life and purpose.
Singh also ran a coaching center, teaching physics to students. Despite his academic success, he found true satisfaction in spiritual exploration, gradually dedicating his life to understanding and experiencing spiritual truths.
Now a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, Singh reflects on his journey: “Everything is Shiva. Truth is Shiva, and Shiva is beautiful.” He uses his scientific background to understand spirituality on a deeper level.
