Daughter of an auto-rickshaw driver, Manya Omprakash Singh has been crowned VLCC Femina Miss India 2020, Runner-Up at the recently concluded beauty pageant held in Mumbai, on February 10, 2021.
Nineteen years old Manya is the daughter of Omprakash Singh. They hail from Uttar Pradesh.
After being declared the runner-up, she has been gathering a lot of attention and praises from celebs like actor Varun Dhawan, Miss World Manushi Chillar, Arjun Bijlani, etc.
Manya was born in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, and studied in the S. M. Lohia High School, Maharashtra. She completed her graduation from Thakur College of Science and Commerce, Mumbai.
Her parents mortgaged their jewellery so that she could pay her exam fees, to earn the degree.
Manya is preparing for a management course. She had worked as a dishwasher at Pizza hut and at a call centre at night to help her parents financially.
Her favourite book is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and her favourite film is Peaceful Warrior (2006)
Speaking to media she said, “I am here today at the VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 stage to uplift my father, my mother, and my young brother and to show the world that all is possible if you are committed to yourself and your dreams.”
