Rohit Sharma Creates History In ICC Events, Surpasses MS Dhoni’s Record

Rohit Sharma has etched his name in cricket history by becoming the first captain to lead India to the finals of all four ICC tournaments. His leadership has set a new benchmark in world cricket.

MS Dhoni had led India to three ICC final wins (T20 World Cup 2007, ODI World Cup 2011, Champions Trophy 2013). However, the World Test Championship (WTC) did not exist during his tenure. Virat Kohli took India to the WTC final, but Rohit is the first to reach all four major finals.

India’s recent victory over Australia in the Champions Trophy semi-final made them the first team to reach five Champions Trophy finals—more than any other nation. Rohit's captaincy continues to create history.

Since becoming full-time captain in 2022, Rohit has led India to the final of every ICC event, a feat unmatched by any skipper. Despite some heartbreaks, his leadership has solidified India's dominance in world cricket.

Under Rohit's leadership, India played the WTC final in 2023 but lost. Later, India reached the ODI World Cup final unbeaten but fell short in the last game. Despite these setbacks, Rohit’s achievements have placed him among cricket’s greatest captains.
