YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as "BeerBiceps," has sparked outrage over a controversial remark on comedian Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent. The remark, made to a contestant, has gone viral, drawing criticism from netizens and authorities.
During the show, Allahbadia asked a contestant an inappropriate question, shocking both the audience and fellow panelists, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?" The clip quickly spread on social media, leading to widespread criticism.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed the controversy, stating that while he had not seen the clip, he was aware of its "very vulgar" nature. He emphasized that Indian society has certain moral boundaries and warned of action against those who cross them.
A complaint has been registered with the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women's Commission against Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, and Samay Raina for allegedly using "abusive language" on the show. The show's organizers have also been booked, with demands for strict action.
Netizens have strongly reacted to the viral clip, with many criticizing the content for prioritizing shock value over meaningful entertainment. One comment read, "Freedom of speech is a double-edged sword. Sadly, sometimes it allows for mediocrity and shock value masquerading as content."
