Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh reviewed coronavirus preparedness in Sonitpur

TEZPUR: Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh on Thursday held a review meeting with all senior district administration officials and heads of various government departments to review the preparedness of the district administration in view of Sonitpur district being declared a Zonal Screening Centre for five North Assam districts.

Addressing the officials present, the Deputy Commissioner asked all to work sincerely and carry out their duties diligently as per directions received in order to deal with all challenges that might come in the way. He stressed the need to account for each and every person who enters the district from outside the State of Assam and directed the health department officials to monitor these people round-the-clock.

The treatment protocol for people returning from States outside Assam, specifically the directives for people returning from orange and red zone districts, were discussed in the meeting. The Deputy Commissioner also informed those present about the latest guidelines received from the health department about treatment for persons showing ILI/SARI like symptoms.

He also directed the heads of various government departments present to ensure adequate facilities at the Zonal Screening Venue set up at Tezpur University campus. Issues related to transportation of persons, water and sanitary facilities, hand washing and sanitization facilities, among others were discussed in the meeting.
