'Need to fight unitedly against COVID-19' Says PHE minister Rihon Daimary

BAKSA: "We have to fight unitedly against COVID-19," said State PHE Minister Rihon Daimary while attending a meeting with various organizations in the conference hall of the DC office at Mushalpur on Wednesday. After lifting of some restriction in the third phase of nationwide lockdown, about 15,000 people of Baksa district living outside the State registered their names and expressed willingness to come back home. In this context, Daimary, who is in-charge of Baksa regarding COVID-19, said that as this district did not have many government institutions, it was quite impossible for the administration to keep such a large number of people under quarantine. So he appealed to members of organizations who attended the meeting to help make quarantine arrangement for these people in clubs and community halls in their localities. He also requested organizations to create awareness amongst the villagers at local level not to panic over this.

Baksa Deputy Commissioner Ranjan Sharma, who chaired the meeting, also said that first the administration would urge students to come back home while others would be brought back later step when the situation improves. Baksa till date has a total 500 quarantine beds ready for use. The leaders of various organizations also expressed their views and assured their full cooperation to fight against the global menace. Later on, Daimary visited the 350-bedded Kharuajan Integrated Textile Park's quarantine centre to take stock of the facilities.
