Adhya shradha of executive editor of Bodosa held

Kokrajhar, May 12: The adhya shradha of the executive editor of Bodosa newspaper, Jeowari Basumatary, who was also a lecturer of Fakiragram College, was held on Saturday at her residence at Bhaolaguri in Chirang district as per tradition of the Bodos.

Many well wishes, local intellectuals and villagers attended the ceremony. She allegedly committed suicide inside a room of the office-cum-residence of Bodosa Publications in the heart of Kokrajhar town on May 2. She was the daughter of Chino Basumatary, the president of All Assam Small Newspaper Owners’ Association and chief editor of Bodosa. Family sources said the reason behind her suicide was not known. Sources said she had just returned to Kokrajhar from Guwahati with family members after a medical check-up.
