CID recovered 23 cartons of Phensedyl Codein Syrup from Brahmaputra Parking Place in Guwahati

Guwahati: On getting source information last night one CID team under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent Deba Dutta recovered 23 cartons of Phensedyl codeine base syrup (total 2300 bottles) on Tuesday in Guwahati.

In this connection driver of the truck bearing registration NL-01AD-2505, Rinku Kumar along with another suspect Amondip Singh was apprehended by the CID team.

As per CID report, the truck was coming from New Delhi and was heading towards Agartala with false number plate ZK-02BP-2736.

Speaking to The Sentinel Digital in this regard, Deputy Superintendent Deba Dutta said, “We have recovered around 2300 bottles of Phensedyl codeine base syrup from the truck during the search operation at Brahmaputra Parking Place at Beharbari in Guwahati last night. These Phensedyl codeine base syrups are available in the market for MRP Rs 140 per bottle and Rs 500 to 600 in black market price.”
