Drug peddler apprehended, 17 Kgs of Ganja seized in Cachar

Guwahati: Based on secret information, SDPO, Lakhipur along with O/C Joypur & Jirighat PS staff, Cachar and 37 Assam Rifles 'B' Coy Personnel conducted a raid against Drugs at Village- Diglangmukh Punjee (Natun Basti) under Jirighat PS and apprehended one Drug Paddler.

The apprehended drug peddler was identified as Fakrul Hussain Mazumder (23 Years) S/O- Farmuz Ali Mazumder of Makhannagar, PS-Jirighat, Dist.-Cachar, Assam.

The police also recovered 17 KGs of Ganja from his possession and brought him to Jirighat PS for thorough interrogation.

In this connection, a Case vide Jirighat PS Case No.9/2020 U/S-20(b) NDPS Act has been registered.

Earlier on Monday, Dholai Police in Cachar district apprehended two drug peddlers at Janata Bazar.

The police during a search operation also recovered 49 Nos. of small size blue packets; each packet containing 200 Nos. of Yaba tablets suspected to be Narcotic Drugs and seized the same from their possession. Accordingly, both the persons brought to Dholai PS for thorough interrogation.

A case vide Dholai PS Case No.46/2020 U/S-21(b) NDPS Act has been registered and both the accused are arrested and forwarded to Hon'ble Court today (17/02/2020).
