Fire breaks out near United Bank of India in Lanka

Lanka: Massive fire broke out near United Bank of India of Shillong road in Lanka town under Hojai district on Monday evening at around 7.30 pm.

Blazing flames were seen engulfing the business establishments near the Bank destroying properties worth lakhs.

Following the incident, three fire tenders from Lanka and Sankardev Nagar have reached the spot to douse the flames.

No casualties have been reported so far.

The exact cause of the fire incident has not yet been ascertained.
