Guwahati: In a shocking incident, Himanta Biswa Sarma's convoy came under attack by some alleged goons of All India Trinamool Congress on Tuesday evening.

Himanta stating his view on the social claimed that the workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party had been mercilessly attacked by TMC workers at Khejuri under Kanthi Lok Sabha Constituency in West Bengal.

Himanta also stated that many of the BJP workers were injured during the clash.

It has also come to light that the alleged goons of the Trinamool Congress had blocked the roads on both sides and were allegedly abusing the BJP workers. "Both BJP State President from Bengal Dilip Ghosh and I got stuck in the middle of the road," said Himanta in his Facebook post.

"The violent TMC goons are not allowing the forces to rescue us," Himanta claimed in the micro-blogging site Twitter.

He also mentioned that even the West Bengal Police personnel were standing like a mute spectator.

"I am appalled at such brazen abuse of power by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee whose people have thrown all democratic norms to the gutter. Is this the New India that we dream of?" Himanta questioned further on the micro-blogging site.
