Huge amount of ammunition and explosives unearthed in Chirang

Chirang: The Chirang Army unit of Red Horns Division along with Chirang Police unearthed a huge cache of Ammunition and high explosive.

The cache is believed to be belonging to dreaded militant Organisation NDFB(S).

On specific input of the presence of a huge amount of Ammunition and explosive launched a search operation along the Sukanteklai River near the International Border. After toiling search which involved deep search metal detector located a suspected spot. On digging by Army and police personal a hidden cache of ammunition and explosive was found. The cache included large amount of ammunition, detonators and grenades.

This is the second major success of Army and Police in unearthing hidden arms and ammunition in the recent past. Last month a huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosive was found in Panbari Reserve Forest. The success of the operation will go a long way in preventing any major Anti National Activity by militant organizations. This will ensure peace is maintained in BTAD and Assam.
