IMA team visits Dr Deben Dutta’s resident in Teok, Urged Govt for quick Action

Teok: Strongly condemning the brutal murder incident of the medical officer of Teok Tea Estate in Jorhat Dr. Deben Dutta, a team of Indian Medical Association under the aegis of National President Dr. Shantanu Sen on Wednesday demanded immediate arrest and diligent prosecution of everyone involved in the crime.

Indian Medical Association also demands appropriate compensation to the family members of the deceased.

IMA also threatened to launch a widespread protest if the Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal doesn’t clear his stand on the matter within the next 24 hours.

The team also visited the residence of deceased Dr. Deben Dutta today and also submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India, Union Home Minister of India and State Health Minister.

It is to be noted that Dr. Deben Dutta, Medical officer of Teok Tea Estate in Jorhat was brutally murdered last Saturday. The 75-year-old senior doctor had retired after a lifetime service in the tea estate.

Meanwhile, the IMA also claimed in the memorandum that the brutality of his murder allegedly by the relatives of the deceased patient is a new low in violence on Doctors and Hospitals
