Man killed under mysterious condition in Hojai, Police investigations on

Hojai: In a shocking incident, one youth was allegedly killed by a middle aged person at No 2 Kanabali village under Hojai District on Monday night.

As per a report, the deceased identified as Jagadish Haluwa under the influence of alcohol came to the doorstep of one Rupsingh Haluwa's residence and had his dinner.

Sources also informed that, Jagadish after having his dinner at Rupsing's home, slept by the doorstep of Rupsing's residence as he was unable to move to his own residence due to over consumption of alcohol.

Looking into the health condition of Jagadish, Rupsing went to inform the matter to the family members of Jagadish.

Accordingly, the younger brother of Jagadish Haluwa came to Rupsing's residence to receive his elder brother, but, Jagadish denied to move with his younger brother.

The incident took an U-turn after, Rupsing started to abuse Jagadish with provocative languages which led to a clash among both the parties. During the clash, both Rupsing and his wife received minor injuries, however, Jagadish died on the spot.

Speaking to the media, Jagadish's younger brother alleged that his elder brother Jagadish was hit by Rupsing with a stick and he died on the spot.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday Hojai police team was intimated by the local people about the incident.

Based on the report, the police team started an investigation in connection to the incident. The body of Jagadish was sent for post mortem. Moreover, Rupsing Haluwa was detained by the Hojai police for questioning.

It may be mentioned that the actual cause of the death has not been ascertained by the Hojai police.
