There is an increase in productivity of local fish breeds in the state: Parimal Suklabaidya

Guwahati: Minister of Forest, Excise and Fishery Parimal Suklabaidya on Wednesday delivered a keynote on the 'scientific conservation of indigenous fish' at the College of Fisheries, Raha, Nagaon.

The minister also mentioned that the department of fisheries in recent times has been efficiently able to increase the productivity of local fish breeds in the state in addition to bringing down the prices of such fishes to an impressive extent.

It is worth mentioning that the central government assisted schemes viz. Blue Revolution, Ghare Ghare Pukhuri, Ghare Ghare Maas, RKVY, etc are the prime reasons for such an increase in fish productivity.

Also praising the College of Fisheries Students Union body, the minister said that the college union has set an example of how excellence can be achieved in the desired fields of education through sincerity & dedication & make themselves capable of contributing more to the development of the nation.
