Torch rally against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016

PATHSALA, May 18: A huge torch rally was taken out at Patacharkuchi by AGP on Thursday evening as a mark of protest against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. The rally started at the Inspection bunglow Patacharkuchi and moved around the main market raising slogans against the Bill. Slogan like ‘AGP Zindabad’ and ‘ withdraw the Bill’ rent the air.

Present MLA of Patacharkuchi LAC and vice president of the central committee of the party Pabindra Deka, president of AGP Bajali district committee Dr Manoranjan Das and a host of party leaders and workers, besides the general members of the public, took part in the torch rally.

DEMOW: The leaders of Thowra Block Congress Committee carried out a protest rally from Demow Rajiv Bhawan to Demow Circle Office in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in Demow on Friday. In the rally, the Thowra Block Congress Committee sharply opposed the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and shouted various slogans against the Chief Minister and Prime Minister. In the rally, President of Congress Sivasagar District Committee Sushanta Borgohain along with others leaders of Thowra Block Congress Committee were present.
