ULFA Denies its Involvement in the Killing of Five Bengali Speaking People in Assam

Guwahati: The shocking and saddening incident of five Bengali speaking people being shot dead in Bisonimukh village of Tinsukia district, Assam, has created quite a roar in the state. Highly-placed sources informed that five out of seven people died on the spot. Two of them have left with severe injuries and have been rushed to nearby hospital.

As an immediate effect of the firing in Tinsukia, police suspected the involvement of ULFA(I) cadres in the attack, but ULFA (I) has denied their involvement in the crime through a press statement. Their press release states, “We, the United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) would like to make it clear that our organisation does not have any involvement in the firing incident that occurred on 1st November 2018 at Sadiya Saikhowaghat in Tinsukia district.”

With the extremist group denying the charges of killing of the Bengali-speaking people, the duties of the Assam police gets doubled up now in order to gear up with their investigation and nab the real culprits.
