GNRC’s Holds Events on World Heart Day (WHD)

Guwahati: On the occasion of World Heart Day (WHD), GNRC Hospitals organized events across the city to highlight the significance of adopting preventive measures for reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases among individuals. The theme for World Heart Day being “My Heart, Your Heart”, GNRC Hospitals’ initiatives urged citizens to care for their hearts and spread awareness about cardiovascular disease, including heart disease and stroke.

The World heart day awareness event at GNRC Dispur Campus began with a short educative drama on how to save lives that would otherwise be lost due to heart attacks. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anup Kumar Boro, Director, Cardiology, GNRC Hospitals, said: “Sedentary lifestyle has resulted in rapid spread of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and cardiac problems. Such health conditions are no longer restricted to urban areas.” He also highlighted that GNRC Hospitals was offering a customized preventive check-up package, “Healthy Heart”, for INR 1600, which can be availed at all three campuses. The package includes (ECG/ECHO/S.Creatinine/Lipid Profile/Blood Sugar (Random)/Urea/Haemoglobin) tests. It was stated in a press release.
