New Delhi: If you are planning to buy a car and that too of a company like Maruti Suzuki, then you might end up spending more on a car variant as India's top car maker Maruti Suzuki has announced that it would increase the car prices in January 2022.

The company has decided to hike the price due to increase in various input costs. However, the prices will vary for different models.

"Over the past year, the cost of Company's vehicles continues to be adversely impacted due to increase in various input costs. Therefore, it has become imperative for the Company to pass on some impact of the above additional costs to customers through a price hike," Maruti informed in an exchange filing on Thursday.

Earlier in September this year, Maruti Suzuki had too increased the prices of its cars, giving a shock to its customers. After this the company made its entire line-up expensive (Maruti Suzuki price hike) by Rs 22,500.

After increasing the prices in September, the company had argued that due to increase in raw material prices, the decision has been taken.

Meanwhile, the Maruti Suzuki is not only the company who will hike the price, the Mercedes-Benz too has announced an increase in the prices of its vehicles by up to two percent, while Audi will increase the prices of all its vehicles by up to three percent.
