A job well done!

The eagerly awaited mega show, the 65th Filmfare awards was held in a befitting manner in Guwahati. For the first time, the biggest B-Town nite was held outside ‘Mayanagari’ Mumbai. The galaxy of stars and superstars of tinsel world of Bollywood assembled in the Sarusajai Stadium on February 15 in what is termed as one the biggest glamorous evenings of Guwahati. The ‘Awesome Assam’ banner of Assam Tourism department was successful in presenting the rich cultural vibes of the State in a very colourful style. Assam Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Jayanta Malla Baruah and his core team deserve appreciation for conducting the show in a hassle-free manner. Though we missed the presence of Amitabh Bachhan and few superstars but that didn’t have any impact as the crowd was mesmerized with the neatly organised show. However, as expected a few were busy in fault-finding; but it is a part and parcel of the game. It is better to ignore these people who have a habit of opposing everything for the sake of opposing. It was also observed that almost all the leading newspapers and local news channels (barring one or two) supported the show in a positive way. This was acknowledged by ATDC Chairman Jayanta Malla Baruah himself in the press conference. We hope that the State Tourism sector gets a fillip in the future.
