Arbitrary attitude of English medium schools

We know the saying ‘Much ado about nothing’, the manifestation of which we can find in our Education department’s policies in ample measure. Even we can find a yawning gap between what our garrulous Education Minister says and does. One of the much-hyped commitments of our education minister was to harness and punish the erring English medium schools’ managements whosoever hike the fees arbitrarily and abnormally. But far from taking action on all those schools that hike fees arbitrarily, the Education Minister maintains a look to the other side policy. For example we can cite the case of St. Mary HS School, Dibrugarh. A news item telecast by an electronic media suggests that St. May HS School, Dibrugarh hikes fees at an abnormal rate. What is more the school management in a sheer show of arrogance and disregard to the state Education department levies extra charge on each book sold to the students. Now, after the truth comes to light about the arbitrary attitude of the said school, it remains to be seen what action the state Education Department would initiate against the school. That apart, we could note with concern about mushrooming of English medium schools with new schools sprouting here and there of the state.
