Assam’s lahe-lahe culture

Ambition is always high. Works are undertaken for the construction of different structures/roads for completion of which one should wait for a long time. The fortunate few of such structures that can see light of the day must traverse the road to completion through the lahe-lahe culture. The most glaring instance of lahe-lahe culture of Assam one can find in the construction of ‘Four-Lane Highways’ in which we could see the beginning but when we can see the end of the tunnel is quite uncertain as the construction is going on lahe-lahe. We believe, if only Assam can get rid of the ignominy of lahe-lahe culture, it can register spectacular development. Our Chief Minister is always harping on the same string that we have to make Assam one of the most shining and developed states of India. We like to appeal to our Chief Minister to ensure construction of buildings/roads or any other works consistently to complete it within a stipulated time. Further, we like to add that the incomplete construction works of lour-lane national highways in Upper Assam appears before us in a way that it leaves a bad taste whenever we visit the other parts of Upper Assam.
