Lockdown, because of COVID-19 has changed the attitude of man towards life all over the world. After losing their existing engagement people are bound to search for new work for their livelihood. At this moment some celebrities from all over India have come forward to show them a path, inspiring them to do cultivation or farming. In Assam also a few celebrities sponsored by the Government have bannered themselves to encourage the young generation to involve them in cultivation. But people have a speculation over their appeal to the young generation. Will the celebrities be able to give much time in cultivating muddy soil bearing the heat of the sun, facing the incessant heavy rain and thunderstorms? Their skin will become tan, eyes will burn from the sweat of the forehead, prickly heat and dirty water may create dermatological problem to their bodies. Will they be able to face all these problems coming out from the air-conditioned rooms to open cultivating land without a shadow? This is a million dollar question. Spending time in open cultivating land bearing scorching heat is not like throwing dialogues and airing voice in an air-conditioned rooms. The new generation is quite intelligent. They easily understand the nexus between the opportunist celebrities and the government. If the celebrities buy acres of land and make engagement the young generation then the matter would be different. But if the appeal is in the poster only then people will surely question them on their so-called good will. The government always tries to use the popularity of the celebrities in their favour. Instead of making them cultivating or farming brand ambassador, the government should select some genuine farmers who have become successful in their own fields to attract the young generation for cultivation. Remember, wild cat never catches hare.
