Clarification on news item ‘Funds crunch hits Zila Parishads’

This has reference to the clarification of the news item appearing in ‘The Sentinel’. A news report published in today’s (12-09-2016) issue of ‘The Sentinel’ about the fund release of P & RD Department to the Zila Parisads deemed it necessary to provide a clarification as the esteemed newspaper has misunderstood and thereby the P & RD department has been misquoted by the said paper.

It is to be clarified that 21 Zilla Parisads in the state have received Rs 10889.94 lakhs till August 2016 against vote on account budget in the current fincial year, where as it is mentioned as Rs. 742.74 lakhs in the news item published in your daily. Also to inform that after received of regular budget in the current fincial year proposal for Rs. 47839.66 lakhs under various programmes have been submitted for sanction and release of the same.

Also it is mentioned that Dhemaji and Dhubri districts have received only Rs. 742.74 lakhs whereas Rs 10889.94 lakhs released to all the 21 Zilla Parishads till August 2016.

Further, it is also clarified that under NSAP in the last fiscal year, gaon has received Rs. 1393.74 lakh, Sivasagar Rs.565.96 lakh, Hailakandi Rs.341.87 lakh, Dibrugarh Rs. 394.30 lakh and Tinsukia Rs 461.60 lakh.
