Dilapidated Roads of Dibrugarh

People of Dibrugarh have reasons to rejoice for the first anniversary of the dumping of stones here and there on the B.C. Das Road connecting Santipara, near Amolapatty Railway Gate to the Mancotta over bridge. If we remember right, the dumping of stone across the road took place just before the Durgapuja last year. Pedestrians, rickshaw pullers have tough time to move on the road. Our PWD Minister deserves kudos for developing all the roads of Assam and we request the reporters not to disturb him with any question relating to the dilapidated roads of Assam. Now what about our Chief Minister who very often comes to Dibrugarh, his own home town. He moves along the Tarun Ram Phukan Road, a part of which is so dilapidated, particularly in front of the ASTC bus station that moving along the road becomes punishment to the commuters. The Union ministers visiting Assam along with their counterparts of Assam sing the chorus of development registered during the BJP’s regime. We the commuters really remain baffled with the contradictory statements of the ministers. We believe in the maxim ‘action speaks louder than words’.

Ashok Bordoloi,

Dibrugarh.
