Incompetent minister

We are fed up with the high falutin speech of some ministers whose departments cannot be said to be free from flaws. We must exclude certain other ministers who are running their portfolios to the satisfaction of all concerned. Recently Public Health Engineering (PHE) Minister Rihon Daimari stated in a press conference that the State government is all set to launch a 'Jala Jeevan Mission Scheme' in which pure potable water supply to all the houses in the rural areas will be ensured. Keeping the implementation of the scheme in view it has been decided to supply pure potable water to 13 lakh 15 thousand 226 families initially. The Minister stated this in the press conference held in the office of the PHE Chief Engineer, Hengerabari. This 'Jala Jeevan Mission' scheme is for supplying pure potable water in the rural areas. As far as supply of water to the people of Guwahati is concerned it seems the minister concerned (GDD) cuts a sorry figure, if reports appearing in the print and electronic media have anything to go by. Most of the MLAs, so long as they don't get berths in the ministry, feel disgruntled. The Minister concerned was no better either while holding the education portfolio. Incidentally, during 10 years back, similar scarcity of water was experienced by me when I had to attend office without a bath for days together at Kharghuli. I am surprised that the sorry state of affairs at Kharghuli still persists, rather in a worse way, not to speak of in most other areas.
