Killing of promising youth

Debashish Gogoi, a promising youth of Milgaon Puthinadi in Mariani was brutally killed by an unruly mob over the issue of a minor accident in Parbatpur Tea Garden, near Mariani. His friend Aditya Das sustained serious injury by the ruthless beating of the mob. It emerges from the report of the print media that both Debashish and Aditya went to Parbatpur Hill for sightseeing as the spot is a tourist place. The accident occurred on their way back when their Scooty slipped from the road hitting two female workers. Incidentally, the report added quoting injured Aditya that the impact of hit on the two women was of a minor nature as they did not receive any injury. The deceased Debashish was the only son of DebajitGogoi, a teacher. The report adds, on receiving the information he along with the sister of Debashish rushed to the spot and found that his son with his friend Aditya were mercilessly beaten up, trampled by a crazy mob of 50 and for rescue of their son and his friend they could not move as they had been confined by some persons of the mob. Incidentally, such mobs are always in the lookout for a chance and jump at their prey without considering the pros and cons of exactly what have happened. We may mention here the killing of one doctor in Teok Tea Estate by such an unruly mob who killed the doctor on flimsy ground. We convey our heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family, praying to God 'may the soul of Debashish rest in eternal peace and wishing a speedy recovery of Aditya'. We appeal to the competent authority to nab all the culprits and hand out exemplary punishment to them.
