Digital India

The Government of India is strongly pushing for making the country completely digital. The Central government has already made Aadhaar Card and PAN Card available to the people in digital medium and has also linked them together. There should then be no problem in making the voter ID card available digitally to the people of the country. The problem in the current process is that it takes a lot of time to prepare the voter card and reach the voter. The Election Commission should take effective measures for its resolution and reform.

Boosting strategic partnership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded America's highest military decoration, The Legion of Merit for his leadership and vision under which India has emerged as a global power. India's Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, accepted the award on behalf of the Prime Minister from the US National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien at the White House. This is an admirable move by the US by boosting strategic partnership between both the countries and also indicates the victory of PM Modi's efforts.

Need for online voting method

The Constitution of Indian provides the right to vote to all men and women of 18 years and above. But if a person has to live temporarily outside the constituency then it may not be possible for him/her to caste the ballot. The current postal voting system is available even though the system is not applicable to all people. Therefore, the Election Commission of India is requested to take action to conduct voting for those individuals through online methods.

KSRTC airport shuttle services

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) operates inter-city airport shuttle services from Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport to Mysuru, Manipal, and Madikeri spread across Karnataka State since 2013. The inter-city shuttles from the airport to various destinations across Karnataka have immensely benefited many travellers to travel overnight and reach in the early morning.

Further KSRTC has branded its airport shuttle buses as 'Flybus' services and the brand is highly appealing to its passengers. However, it should be noted that Flybus as a brand name already exists for the airport transfer/shuttle services in Iceland between Keflavík International Airport to Reykjavík City Center Bus Terminal operating frequently.

Hence it is imperative to create a distinct brand identity for KSRTC's airport shuttles operating from Bengaluru Airport. As Flybus brand name already exists for the services between Keflavík International Airport and Reykjavík City Center Bus Terminal in Iceland, an innovative global branding exercise for KSRTC's inter-city airport shuttles is highly necessary. KSRTC's Marketing Department is thus requested to look into re-brand its current fleet of Flybus services and thereby propose an innovative and unique brand identity to serve its commuters.

Commercialization of education and loss of students

The role of education in building modern human civilization is immense. Science and technology are making today's world more vibrant. However, it's unfortunate that education is now considered to be the most important commercial commodity and various educational institutions, which are built like mushrooms, are offering lucrative products like other products. The recent influx of education in the world market has forced the World Trade Organization (WTO) to consider whether the commercialization of higher education can be brought under the ambit of import-export through certain policies in different countries. At the juncture of this transformation in higher education, the extent to which colleges and universities will have an impact on higher education has become a matter of concern. In the past, educational institutions have been used as a means of building a society that carries the virtues of healthy humanity, with human values always at the forefront. Teachers, educational institutions, the education system are all embroiled in controversy for the sake of the economy. Every educated person knows that a meritorious student is an asset to the society. No matter what the educational institution is, a meritorious student can benefit the society and the country as a skilled person of the future. Every teacher who imparts education selflessly deserves the respect of the society.

Population-control legislation

It refers to Union Health Ministry unexpectedly opposing a much-required population-control legislation when in an affidavit filed at Supreme Court the ministry told that any such step could be counter-productive leading to demographic distortions. Affidavit came on the Apex Court seeking views of Central government on a plea seeking introduction of two-child norm to control ever-increasing population of the country.

Absence of any such policy pleaded in public interest litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court is leading to fast changing demography in the country where population of a particular minority community is increasing at a faster rate decreasing population percentage of majority community in the country. With a prominent member of the Opposition having brought a private member bill in the Rajya Sabha in tune with PIL filed by a spokesperson of ruling party, it was hoped that the Central government will introduce two-child norm as a part of reformative measures. Even President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted supporting population control on 02.05.2020.

At least incentives for small families should be replaced by disincentives for large families. All government facilities including reservation benefits, freebies, subsidies etc, government jobs and service promotion may be auto terminated on birth of third child in the family. Not only right to contest election, but even right to vote may be snatched on birth of third child in the family. However, exemption may be there in case of certification of disability by a government doctor of any of earlier two children. A person should be permitted to have only one wife like system exists even in Islamic countries.
